Here
is the wax model for casting Thinking Nature. Sprues (red colored wax),
vents (straws), and cup are used in pouring process. At the far right,
a mold (one of the cylinders shown) is built to contain the wax model.
The wax is "burned out" in a kiln forming an empty cavity in the mold.
Molten bronze is poured into the mold, fills the cavity where the wax was,
and forms the sculpture shown above.
