Concept - Garden of Sprouting PartsWestcott Bay Outdoor Sculpture Park, San Juan Island, Washington cast glass and welded steel "flower" sizes range from 24" x 20" x 17" to 12" x 8" x 2" July, 2002 This installation consists of 12 "flowers" made of cast glass attached to steel ground anchors. These flowers incorporate castings of various artifacts and found objects from industry and nature. Sited in a lush wooded setting of the Westcott Bay Nature Preserve, the work evokes a visual dialogue of similarities and contrasts between the natural and built environments.
