I first experimented with casting bronze in college. Since then, I have created work intermittantly in this medium using the lost wax method. Most of my sculptures have incorporated wax casts of natural and machine-made objects to capture intricate textures and geometry. Wax is a wonderfully compliant sculpting material, a dramatic contrast to the bronze it becomes. The actual casting process is thrilling, and upon cracking open a mold, I feel amazed by the transformation of the soft wax model into the hard bronze metal.
